Entertaining Mr Sloane

Young Vic Theatre – 2025

In Joe Orton’s 1964 cult classic, Mr Sloane, a young devilish hustler with a dark past moves into middle-age siblings Kath and Ed’s household. But what begins as a convenient living arrangement spirals into a dangerous game of seduction and blackmail.

The artwork, based on a stock photography treated in a lurid combination of red and pink, shows the handsome but sinister Mr Sloane in y-fronts, a nod to the iconic portrait of the writer Joe Orton, who posed in his pants at a time when it was still illegal to be queer in the UK.
